What we offer and what to expect

At Tiger Tops Elephant Camp we are designing a new program together with Carol Buckley, founder of Elephant Aid International. We would like our guests to have the most natural elephant experience. This will be a more observational experience than we have offered in the past. Here are a few reasons why our new program is the best way to experience elephants:

Elephant walks

The best way to experience the elephants is by observing them – when you walk by their side, you get a different and intimate perspective on how they move and behave in nature. Walking alongside the elephants will give you an understanding of how grand these magnificent creatures are, and how quiet and graceful they move through the jungle.

Being an intimate observer while the elephant bathe themselves

When you go to the river with the elephants you will witness their carefree, uninhibited play behavior in the water. To ensure that your experience is unforgettable, the elephants will be allowed freedom to play as you stand back and observe. We promise you the most amazing photo opportunities.

Interacting with mahouts

To get a feel for what it is like to be a mahout, we invite you to spend time with our mahouts, and to engage in their daily lives. You will get the chance to help them collect grass for the elephants, learn how to make sandwiches for the elephants, and generally how the mahouts care for them.

Why the mahouts are the only people who go into the corrals

The corral is where the elephants have their ultimate personal space, and even the mahouts do not impose upon them as the goal is that the elephants totally relax, immerse themselves in their mini natural habitat and commune with their family of elephants. Feeding will always be done by the mahouts inside the corrals, as this is where the elephants are most relaxed.

  1. It is such a pleasure to work with the staff at Tiger Tops Elephant Camp to help create a program where guests respectfully experience the private life of elephants. You are showing the way for a better, kinder world for captive-held elephants in Asia.

      Dear Sharon,
Thank you very much for your support and encouragement, it means a lot to us. The current rate is an introductory price for all bookings made while we are still working on finishing the last four corrals. We hope you will take the chance to grab this offer and come and see the place for yourself. Thank you for spreading the word.

      All the best,

      Dear Margaret,

Thank you for your support, we hope you will spread the word – the more guests who come to visit, the more we can convince others that this is the way forward for elephant oriented tourism.

Overjoyed that you embraced new and kind ways for the elephants. Cheers for the mahouts who deal with all of the change. I hope Carol Buckley has enough time to also teach about good foot trims, nails and such. Thanks again, and I hope tourists will come in droves, I will spread the word. All the best and many blessings.

Thank you, thank you, thank you……. for giving the elephants back their life and freedom to be elephants and treating them with love and compassion……….Carol is an amazing person……..I know of her when she started The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, USA…………and learned everything about elephants from her……watching videos and reading on her website……. ….being aware of elephants needs and their intelligence and gentle nature when they are free to express it…….is truly amazing to be in their presence……I am a luxury leisure Travel Consultant and I only deal with tour operators for my clients that offer “viewing” of wild animals free doing whatever they naturally do

  6. Congrats for new iniciation. Hope this will be work of compassion.
